"Oh my god... I can't do this!" Becca cried as she sat on she and JC's bed in their NYC apartment. "I can't
do it!" She was in tears. She'd just out her wedding dress on and looked into the mirror, and suddenly she had cold feet.
"I'm glad I didn't put her makeup on first." Julia grumbled.
"Aww, come on, Becca. It couldn't be that bad." Jessi said. She and Becca had met three days earlier at the
rehearsal dinner, and Becca had liked the older girl so much, she had made her the final bridesmaid. It seemed that Jessi
had been the missing piece to the puzzle. She fit in much better than anyone had imagined, and Becca felt like she had known
her for years.
"Oh, what do you know?" Becca asked. "You and Justin have only been dating a week!"
"Becca, you can do this." Kelly said. "I told myself I couldn't have a baby, but I did." She looked over at
Brianna, the flower girl.
Kelly's words caused an immediately new fear in Becca's eyes.
"Oh my god! What if I get pregnant?!?" she shouted.
Julia, Britni, and Jessi groaned.
"Look what you've done, Kelly!" Britni cried.
"As the maid of honor, I'm going to have to ask you to take your daughter and step out of the room." Julia
Kelly rolled her eyes and took Brianna's hand. "Come on, sweetie. Let's go."
"What's wrong with Aunt Becca, Mommy?" The sweet little girl asked.
"She's having what's commonly known as a nuclear meltdown, sweetie."
Brianna looked confused as Kelly led her out.
"Mommy, what's a mucula meltdown?"
"You're not gonna get pregnant, Becca." Britni said. "There was a considerable amount of protection, wasn't
"Yes. I've been taking pills since before I met him." Becca said.
"He didn't use-" Britni broke off when the fearsome look enveloped Becca's very being.
"Oh my god! What if I'm pregnant NOW?!?" she yelled.
"Becca, if you were pregnant now, you'd be... a month and a half." Julia said. "You wouldn't be showing. Have
you missed a period?"
"NOO!" Becca seemed frantic.
"Then you're not." Jessi said.
Becca sighed. "Thank god." She gasped. "What if I do?"
Julia shook her head. "God, please help me." She pleaded. "I wanna kill her so badly."
Britni stepped in. "So what if you do get pregnant? Big deal!" she cried, and Becca looked at her like she
was crazy. "I'm serious, Becca. You love JC, don't you?" Becca nodded. "And you wanna spend the rest of your life with him,
don't you?" Becca nodded again. "Then it's alright if you marry him. And if you have a baby, that'll be a symbol of your love
for each other." Britni's words were making her weepy. "Excuse me."
"How much do you love him?" Jessi asked, sitting next to Becca on the bed. She towered over the younger girl.
"He's everything." Becca said. "He completes me. He makes me whole."
*You are every part of me
And with every breath I take
Your love will light my way*
Meanwhile, over at the little wedding chapel where Becca and JC's wedding would take place, JC was having
his own case of cold feet.
"Joey, I'm so scared." JC murmured, tears falling down his face.
"WHOA!" Joey cried. "So let me get this straight... Joshua Scott Chasez is afraid of marriage?" He laughed.
"Give me a freaking break, man! Come on, JC. You're not me."
"Joey, you don't understand, dude." JC shook his head. "On our ten-month , when I... gave myself to her so whole-heartedly, and she did the same for me,
I promised her something. I promised I'd take care of her no matter what. No matter what it was, I'd be right there, with
my arms around her, taking care of her because I love her so much." He looked up at his friend. "What if I can't do it, Joe?
What if I can't take care of her?"
*And for every day I live
The promise that I make
Is that I will never let you go, babe*
"You can, 'C, and you will." Joey patted JC's shoulder. "You already have by showing her how much you love
her. It took a lot of guts for you to ask her to do this. You must really love her, JC."
"I do." JC murmured, then chuckled. "That wasn't so hard to say." He looked down. "I've never felt this way,
dude. And every day that I live, I plan on showing her that."
*I swear I never knew love like this before
And for everything you are
I gotta make you know*
"So Kel tells me that you and Becca wrote your own vows." Joey said. "So let me hear 'em. It'll be great practice."
Just then, Justin walked in.
"And the best man finally arrives." Joey said. "You know, you were supposed to be the second here."
"What'd I miss?" Justin asked.
"JC having cold feet and acting like a little kid." Joey said.
JC's eyebrow raised. "And I did that when?"
"Anyways, guys, I just figured something out." Justin said.
"What?" Joey asked. "That you're not a 'stud muffin'?"
Justin rolled his eyes. "No. That I'm in love with Jessi."
"Justin, you've known her a week." JC said. "It took me months to fall for Becca."
"It also took you a freaking year to spit out that you loved her." Justin scoffed. "You waited until
she said it first. The point is, I'm not you, and I love Jessi. She's perfect for me."
"Oh, JC, I know what the boy's sayin'." Joey said. "I was crazy about Kelly for weeks before I told her how
much I liked her. It was love, and I never knew it until later. And since then, she's been there for me."
*When I was running out of faith
You still believed in me
And never let me fall*
It was then that Lance arrived.
As he entered, he smiled. "Just like Chris to be late."
"Tell me about it." The other three guys said in perfect unison.
"Lance, I need to talk to you alone for a sec." Joey said. He pulled his best pal off to the side. "I think
I'm gonna do it."
"You're gonna ask her?" Lance murmured. Joey nodded. "Man, that's great."
"I feel like I'm ready now, you know?" Joey said. "I'm ready to give her the parts of me that she doesn't
*And the times I lost my way
You're the one who held me up
And brought me through it all*
"I'm ready." Becca said. "I can do this."
Julia was doing Rebecca's makeup while Kelly was curling Rebecca's hair.
Britni had successfully found Becca's veil, and she and Jessi were searching in the closet for Rebecca's shoes
while Brianna napped on the bed.
"I'm so happy for you, Becca." Britni smiled as she spotted the shoe box. "I know how you feel about JC. I
feel the same way about Lance. He helped me get through chemo. " She was now in remission again, thanks to Lance's strength,
and the courage it gave her.
*I swear I never saw it like this before
'Cause, baby, with your love, you gave me
The reason to go on*
As Britni and Jessi emerged from the closet, Becca saw their reflections in the mirror. "Britni, you're crying.
What is it with you today?"
"Ahh, I think the reason I'm so weepy is because I'm about to get my period." Britni said, and the other girls
all nodded in understanding. "It's about time, too, 'cause I haven't had one in two months." The others gasped and stopped
what they were doing to turn around and look at her. Julia dropped the lipstick tube she was holding. "What? Oh, I know what
you're thinking. No way. I'm always irregular. Have been since I was 15. Anyways, we took all the right precautions. I've
been on the pill for a long time, and he uses... a certain thing every time... except for that one time..." A look of astonishment
struck her at that moment. "Two and a half months ago." She looked at Kelly. "I couldn't be, could I?"
Kelly nodded. "Once is all it takes. And even if you're on the pill, it's possible for it to be broken through."
Britni's green eyes grew wide in horror as she dropped onto the bed beside the sleeping Brianna. "I... I..."
She couldn't say more.
"Jessi, go to the store..." Becca's eyes raised. "Now."
*And I'd give anything for your love
'Cause, baby, I'd never make it alone
And forever I'll stand by your side
I just gotta make you see
I only live...
For your love*
Britni was solemn on the way to the chapel as she rode in the back of Becca's wedding limo with Becca, Kelly,
Julia, Jessi, and Brianna.
"It'll be okay, Britni." Becca said, rubbing Britni's hand.
"But I thought..." Britni fell silent.
"I know. It's okay." Becca gave her a little hug.
Jessi sighed as she took Chris's arm.
"Let's go." Jessi nodded at him.
We better get this show on the road." Chris agreed. "'C's gettin' antsy up there."
They started up the aisle, followed by Joey and Kelly.
"I need to ask you something at the reception." Joey murmured.
Kelly nodded. "Sure."
Next down the aisle was Britni and Lance.
"Lance, I need to talk to you at the reception." Britni whispered.
"What's wrong?" Lance wondered.
"I've had a little scare, but it's important. We'll discuss it later." Britni said.
Next was Justin and Julia.
"Thanks to you, I got a raise." Julia muttered.
"Why?" Justin wanted to know.
"Jessi says I helped her meet you." Julia sighed. "She also says that when you dump her, which she's afraid
of, she'll fire me."
Finally, Becca came up the aisle alone. That's the way she had wanted it. She didn't want anyone to "give
her away". She was independent, and wasn't someone's thing to "give away".
JC's heart pounded in his chest as he watched his bride come up the aisle. She looked astounding in her lacy
white dress. Her beautiful blue eyes shone with love.
JC's pulse quickened, and as he stood at the front of the chapel, a priest, eight friends, and the flower
girl surrounding him, he realized that he wanted his soon-to-be wife more than he ever had.
Becca almost began crying as she came up the aisle. She had never seen JC more handsome than he was that very
moment. He looked incredible in his tux; she had hardly ever seen him in one, and there was a single red rose in his lapel.
His beautiful, streaked-blond hair was curled, and he'd actually taken the time to shave.
Becca made her way to JC, and he murmured, "Oh, you're so beautiful."
She smiled and whispered, "You are, too, baby."
Minutes passed, and the priest asked Becca to say the vows she had written.
She did it happily.
*And everything I am
And all that I could be
Would mean nothing now
If you're not with me
Shinin' your light on me
When night is closin' in
When I was weak
You were the one who made me strong
You gave me faith to carry on*
JC's vows were next.
*I'd give anything for your love
'Cause, baby, I'd never make it alone
And forever I'll stand by your side
I just gotta make you see
I wanna live for your love
Sing for your love
Wanna give for your love*
Becca's breath quickened as she watched JC look down at the ring she had just slid on his hand, and then Justin
handed him the one he'd be putting on her hand.
"I take thee, Rebecca, to be my lawfully wedded wife." As JC tenderly said those words, a tear slipped down
Rebecca's cheek, although she hadn't meant for it to.
She watched as he put the ring on her finger.
"You may kiss the bride." The priest said.
Becca threw her arms around JC's neck as he pressed his lips against hers.
At the reception, Joey pulled Kelly and Brianna off to the side.
"Brianna, there's something I need to ask your mommy, and I wanted you to be here when I asked her." Joey
said. He glanced at Kelly. "Kelly, baby, I'll get right to the question." He took a breath. "Kelly, would you marry me?" He
dropped to one knee and held up a diamond ring.
Kelly's hand flew to her mouth. "Joey..." She looked down at Brianna.
"Mommy says... 'yes'." Brianna said.
"What she said." Kelly smiled through her tears.
Joey stood and put the ring on her finger. "I love you, Kelly." He kissed her. "I'm ready for this."
Justin took Jessi's hand. "Jessi, I just want you to know that I don't plan on breaking up with you. You may
think I'm crazy, but... I love you."
"Justin..." Jessi smiled. "I love you, too." She put her arms around his neck. "I'm so happy that I met you.
You're perfect for me."
"Julia?" Chris asked.
"Yes, Chris?" She looked up into his eyes.
"I'm not sure if you wanna hear this, but..." He cleared his throat. "I love you, woman. I'm in love with
you. There. I've said it. I'd give anything to make you feel the same way."
"Chris, you don't have to make me feel the same way." Julia smiled. "I already feel the same. I love you.
I realized it today. I love you, too."
*I'd give anything for your love*
"Lance, we need to talk now." Britni said.
"Okay." He smiled. "What's up, baby?"
"Lance, I..." She paused. "How much do you love me?"
"Oh, baby... A mountain couldn't compare." He sat forward in his seat. "I love you, Britni. Why are you questioning
my love for you?"
"Lance, I'm..." She could barely speak. "I'm..."
"You're what, girl?" he wondered.
"If you leave me after I tell you this, I won't make it." She was terrified.
"I'll never leave you, Britni. What's wrong? Why are you freaking out on me, baby?" he asked.
"I'm pregnant." she muttered.
"What?" he asked. He laughed. "How long?"
"About two months." She bit her lip. "You're not mad, are you?"
"No." She heaved a sigh of relief as he spoke. "In fact, this happened at a perfect time." He took a little
box out of his pocket and opened it.
She gasped. "Oh, Lance..."
He chuckled. "Britni, will you please become Mrs. James Lance Bass? Britni Bass sounds awfully cute."
She threw her arms around his neck, and he knew her answer.
*'Cause, baby, I'd never make it alone*
Later that night, Becca was sitting on the bed in she and JC's hotel room.
"I'm ready!" she called.
He walked in, wearing only his black boxers and a
